What Should My Next Book Be?

I need to get started on my next book. There is so much more that I want to learn that I'm having a hard time choosing.

  1. Write a book on Riak + node.js. I've been digging into both technologies lately, and while each is a game changer by itself, put together, they offer some very interesting possibilities. Plus, there just are enough books about Riak right now (there's only one Riak Handbook..we need more), and it is very cool tech. I threw in node.js, so you can actually build interesting apps, instead of just playing with the Riak CLI.

    1. I hadn't considered a mashup of technologies before. That could really be an interesting approach...

  2. Write a book on a real functional programming language.

    1. Does Erlang count? I'm intensely curious about the web frameworks -- it's just a question of when, not if, I get around to writing about at least one of them....

  3. Meteor, you know you should. Although a good manual of Erlang if not.

    1. Hehe. We talked about converting that into an actual book, but felt the photos were not of high enough quality. Good food photography is surprisingly hard to do.
